Annual digital competiton 2012

Post by mike-e »

Many many congratulations to Tracey, Bert, Mark, and Jared on their wins last night. Great to see an overwhelming quality of camera skills, viewpoint, and timing winning so many catagories.

Marks image engendered the true meaning of record in a exempliary manner
Jared's rendition truly was creative, and shows fine imagery along with creative enhancements make a striking combination

Traceys Portrait was pure class, very emotive, exactly what a portrait should be, and the other winning shot has such atmosphere you felt you were part of the scene. brilliant!

Bert gave us all a masterclass in vision, camera skills and timing. I'm guessing minimal post processing was required to produce the three winners. In winning Natural History, Monochrome, and best Overall Image, simply reinforces Bert strength - that of a fine craftsman.

There are some truly splendid photographers at ADAPS, some well established with many years of experience and some also quite new to photography who have developed through observing, listening and, most importanlty, trying things for themselves.

Totally agree with the sentiments expressed.
Best regards

I have to agree, and say I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the annual for the first time. I did better than I ever imagined too, which helps :]

Thank you Mike, John and Kevin for your kind comments, I was as surprised as anyone to get such good scores, the quality of the work in this weeks competition was high and it's nice to see some of our newer members giving it a go and achieving good results too.

Marks record shot was outstanding as were all of Bert's images, both extremely worthy winners and I feel honoured that my name is sat along side them this year.

Best Wishes

Tracey

Thanks folks for your kind words, sorry I couldn't get down to the club for the competition, it's the first annual I have missed in over 30 years being a member of ADAPS, I just enjoy my photography and hope that you folks don't get bored looking at my images, It's certainly a good sign for the future of ADAPS to see the quality of the work being produced by the newer members, if us old timers can help in any way just ask, as long as it is about photography, my knowledge of photoshop is zero.
Regards,
Bert.
