It's about time. When you have Sausage Fingers like me it is downright awkward removing a lens cap with a hood in place. Now all Canon need to do is reduce their ridiculously overpriced L series lenses!!

Geoff, I completely disagree with your comment on L Series lenses. They are that price for a reason and worth every penny I paid for the two I have. The difference between a kit lens, an EF lens and and an L series lens is staggering.
