The monochrome version of the first pose is my favourite Paul, although with a slight tweaking - a little crop off the bottom to just below the large curl and a toning down of the hot spot on her right shoulder.

I can understand the thought process behind your suggestions - to draw more attention on her face and eliminate distraction.

Hi Paul
I prefer the first image, her eyes are stunning and the pose and look is sultry yet still classy. My only niggle is that with her make up - imho the heavy lip liner distracts and keeps drawing my eye.
A question too if I may? Do you always leave moles etc in or does it depend on the sitters opinion/request.

Thanks for your comments Pauline. I know what you mean about the lipliner.paulinefisher wrote: I prefer the first image, her eyes are stunning and the pose and look is sultry yet still classy. My only niggle is that with her make up - imho the heavy lip liner distracts and keeps drawing my eye.

I don't have any set rules with retouching. Just my personal preference. The subject doesn't really get a say in how I process my images.
If a mole doesn't bother me I'll leave it or may fade it slightly. If I don't like anything then I get rid of it - these may include moles, wrinkles, neck lines, ear piercings, navel piercings, etc.

Hi Paul
I prefer the colour version of photo 1. Great eye contact with the model, she looks relaxed and happy and that's what you want to see in an image. She has lovely eyes.

Re: Michelle H by Window Light
Hi Paul,
I would prefer no.3 if the left hand side was less exposed (how do you control that with natural light - do you make the model turn more to the left, and would this darken the RHS if no reflector was used?). Because of this, I prefer no.1 - the exposure is much better, and the model looks as thought she's totally engaged with the camera - you've captured a relaxed pose.
Cheers
Mel
