On the 11th August at 7:00 pm we plan to visit the Bolton Steam Museum. David at the museum who lives nearby is prepared to open up the museum especially for our society. The majority of the exhibits are in full working order and 3 or 4 will be demonstrated under electric back up. The site has natural light and sodium lights when darker. There are two levels to the museum which can be accessed by stairs or lift. Lots of colour, shapes & sizes
The museum is located on Morrison Atlas Mills Supermarket Site, next door to the Morrison's Petrol Station
Address:
Mornington Road
off Chorley Old Road (B6226)
Bolton
BL1 4EU
Buses which pass 125 & 519
I hope I can get an idea of numbers coming along as soon as possible.
I am sure it will be a good evening.

For anyone who wants to see what the museum has to offer, their website is http://www.nmes.org/
ADAPS has visited before, but perhaps as long ago as 15-20 years! Even then it was photographically interesting and I hear it has expanded its exhibits since then.
Don't forget the macro and wide angle lenses! Tripods could be very useful as well.

A reminder that for anyone who doesn't want to go to the museum, Len will be opening the clubrooms. It will be a case of chatting and making your own tea or coffee. len will wait a reasonable time, but if no-one takes up the option he'll be closing up early.
We're going to the museum and looking forward to making some useful images, either as stand alone shots or as parts of other image making. I seem to remember that last time I made an interesting still life based around an old rusty tin of Brasso....happy days!
