Forum Competition #192: Windows

Post by JOJO »

I love architecture, and no building is complete without a window.

I look forward to seeing creativity and your interpretations of 'windows'....and don't forget there doesn't necessarily have to be a pane of glass for it to be a window

Possibly not the most accessible entrance ever designed?
Best regards

So glad I made notes as each image was posted!
Some great images. I've decided as I'm a beginner, I'm just going to pick my favourite image for it's aesthetics rather than technical judgement.

John - Aside from the humour of the image I think it's a rather nice window and I love the brickwork. I'm also intrigued to know what lurks behind the shutter! It's a shame the 'accessible' sign isn't above the window

Stopher - Great composition Chris. I like the model's position against the (possibly draughty  )window and how her hands frame the larger pane. I'd love to know who she was watching.

Mel - I love the colours in this 'modern' stained glass. I wonder how it would have looked if you could capture the whole of the window in the frame?, excuse the pun!

Bazzameg - A lovely detailed example of a traditional stained glass. Great colours. I love how windows like this always tell a story.

Tracey - Although not specifically taken for this competition, I'd love to see how it would look with the model's full reflection in the window. A beautiful monochrome image. I like the slight vignette, it gives a vintage feel.

Graham - I love the symmetry of this image and the angle at which it was taken. I like how you've managed to capture the detailed architecture.

Gordon - I like the simplicity of your image. You seem to have captured the warmth of the day (if that makes sense  ). I like how the grill is quite detailed even though it's a quite small window.

Phil - A good old fashioned church stained glass window. Again, I love the symmetry. If I was being picky, I'd like to have seen the vase in the centre

Paul - A great simplistic shot. Again, symmetrical. It has a homely, farmhouse feel to it.

Janice - I like this quirky shot. It's something I would snap too. It's got lots of colour which attracts the viewers eye.

Rianne - I love how you've framed the frame perfectly. I like how you've taken the picture looking from inside out. It's a shame the windows were in need of a clean, I would loved to have seen more of the opposite building.

Lesley - A beautiful image. I love the colour of the models eyes, they certainly draw you in.

I really enjoyed looking at them all it was difficult choosing a winner...

3rd place - Graham
2nd place - Chris (Stopher)

1st place - It's got to be Barry(Bazzameg) :-]
