#200 - Within 200 Yards (or metres)
#200 - Within 200 Yards (or metres)
This competition may well need a new image, but the main requirement is that a picture should be shot, outside, within 200 yards/metres of where you live. A picture that fits that brief and is from your archive will be fine as well.
There is no limit as to what the subject might be, but the 200 yard rule is the key.
As this is the 200th competition, I will be donating a small prize to the winner as well. The prize has now been ordered. The winner will receive a Godox 64-LED mini light panel that clips into the hotshoe of a camera, giving continuous light ideal for fill-in, night shots, macro photography and many other applications. It runs off 4 AA batteries (not supplied) and is currently priced at £17.70 on Amazon.
PS The deadline is midnight 20th March 2018, so plenty of time to enter.

One of my first set topics at beginners photography was "rust". There was so much too choose from in our garden . This image was my favourite.

Just when you need a nice sunny day to take a photo, you wake up and it's raining! Typical!

Re: #200 - Within 200 Yards (or metres)
Well the competition is now closed and it's decision time!
Mel offers a very clean shot, made more so by the crisp, white snow.
Barry's flower study is almost abstract. It oozes colour!
Graham has found an event with 200 yards, which is remarkable. The image may be a little dark, but the content is great.
Janice seems to have used flash to light her lion, which is rather stark. The statue is fine, but the separation from the bacground maybe is a bit too pronounced.
JoJo is starting to "see" images and this exploration of her garden in search of rust is an example of how a project can help our photography along.
Phil's canal scene is very attractive, but unfortunately the image is not particularly sharp.
Alasdair has a well composed shot, although I'm not sure I go for the treatment, which is maybe a bit too much.
Gordon has a well exposed and sharp shot, it just needs some other component to liven it up. A robin on the tree would do the trick!
Lesley has bagged a fine rainbow, having grabbed the opportunity with ease.
Rianne's flower study could do with being a bit sharper and also slightly darker.
And the winner of the prize is.............BAZZASMEG! If Barry would like to collect his prize at the club it will be there from Thursday this week.
Now over to Barry for the next competition!
