How about an introduction thread for new members joining the forum. I'll start it off...
My name is Dave Featherstone, live and work in Atherton. I was a member of ADAPS during the 90's but because of a change in jobs & shifts, unfortunately had to give up my membership
My dad gave me his Kodak box brownie in 1963 and been hooked ever since. Was reluctant to switch over from analogue to digital but all that changed after a visit to the club by Barry Thomas. I currently use the Canon EOS system. Subjects include travel, people and sports. I shoot portraits with Elinchrom lighting and also photograph weddings.
Hi Dave, welcome. Like yourself although I live in Atherton but can't get to the club these days. People seem to put up with me all the same, and they'll do the same with you <grin>
Welcome to the Forum David. I remember you from way back, a nice lad even if you do use Canon gear. Most of the old stalwarts are still around and will remember you. Remember that Harry Gladson, wasn't he rubbish - couldn't take a good picture for toffee. Still comes to the club on a stick.
When will we see you again?
Hi Sunsworth: Thanks for the welcome. I don't understand your comment on "a springboard to a better camera". Canon rules OK.
Hi Yellowduster: Of course I remember Harry. A smashing bloke who offered to teach me the arts of the darkroom before I left. I also remember Len Hudson, a good chairman & photographer but hopeless on names and Jack Duckworth or would that be Alan?
Hi Paul: Thanks Paul. Checked out your web-site. Superb stuff on there. Whats Jez doing on there with all those beautiful girls?
Brian ... I'm to one you see scrounging tea money off my mum LOL
Powered by Nikon d80, after spending 3 years on various Fujifilm's learning to grow up then finally a proper camera ..
Stabilised by Manfroto ... Never thought I'd spend nearly 200 quid on a tripod :S but my wee beasty is the dog's
Prefer to take photos of places and I love ruins and abandonment (even if some of the places are a tad *cough* illegal ) though I do have a friend that I get to play out with in the portrait field

lol - very witty! A professional said to me recently - that is what Photoshop is for! Personally I was amazed - what is wrong with getting it almost right in the first place? The middle is definitely the favoured spot!
