Ah, such is progress. It's only a couple of years ago that we had to wait for our order of quills...

Hi Len,

I take it that the first week of the annual competition is the Slide section , together with one of the print sections. Do we know as yet what the print section/sections will be.

One thing that has been on my mind, I have raised it to individuals at the club a couple of times, is the “Creative Colour” category. Is it not possible for this category to be just “Creative”, as a black and white print can be just as creative, but doesn’t really fit the black and white section. The absence of colour could render the print inadmissible in the creative “colour” section. Just a thought, but probably worth a mention at the AGM.

Regards

Len - apologies for bringing this thread back up, but if can you clarify a couple of points for me it would be appreciated.

For the open digital competition next month: presumably this is 3 images per member in the format 1400x1050 (max) (on a black surround), JPEGS, sRGB ColourSpace - am I correct? How do we submit these images - can we email them to you?

For the annual competition, I will only be submitting Prints, so the categories are:

Open Pictorial
Portrait
Natural History
Record
Creative Colour
Open Monochrome

Can I submit 3 prints per category, or is it 3 prints in total? (There was a suggestion that there were a lot of prints last time so I'm assuming 3 per category.)

Also (and if the above questions are stupid - here's the killer!), can I submit say a portrait image into the Open Monochrome or Creative Colour categories?

I think I'm with it, but if you can help me with those I think I've cracked it.

Thanks for your help and see you tonight.

Andrew

One more daft question, if you submit 7 images into the digital competition for March are these images then excluded from the annual competition (as prints) in April?

Many thanks

Len - Does this also mean we can enter our pictures from the Monthly Prints Competitions into the March Digital Competition ???

Len, have a word with Jim and Glenys as we now have a Competition Program that will make presenting the images a doddle.

There is also a trophy awarded
Hi, I dont remember this from last year !! . :-d

Anyway, as i expect that there will be a lot of entries for this particular competition, I was thinking that, (if the program that Jim and Glenys have allows), maybe it would be more interesting to judge this in the same way that the L&CPU digital competitions are judged, when pictures are eliminated in rounds and points awarded accordingly, with the final selection left in making up the winners and commended shots automatically.
That way we could even one day have an outright winner based on a single image and a winner based on accumulated points, as i suspect that once the images are stored in the program it does this automatically.

just a thought for now,

regards, keith.
