I would just like to thank Paul for organising a photoshoot at the club yesterday. The model, Raphaella was fantastic, she was very professional and I certainly got quite a few good shots that I am looking forward to working on. We learned quite a lot about setting up the lighting and getting different effects and I feel like I've gained confidence in giving direction. It was really nice just to have a very small number of photographers, it allowed us to take our time and not feel rushed and we tried not to pinch eachothers ideas...!!!!!! :-d

Here is one of my shots:

Thanks again Paul

Thanks Tracey

It was a real pleasure working with a small group of photographers who all have a real desire to learn more about studio photography. There were some excellent ideas coming through from each person.

Working with an experienced model like Raphaella makes such a difference. The four hours flew by didn't it?

Paul, I would be interested in joining if you would do another one. I know that may put the numbers up. Good Pic Tracey.

Yes - many thanks Paul - I really enjoyed the shoot.

To share one of my images, rather than upload here, I've provided a link below. I'm conscious that nudity can offend some of the members and so please do not click on it if you find "fine art nude" images either offensive or embarrasing.

Just out of interest, all the photos were taken with my basic Interfit EX150 mark I light set - many with just one head and I was pleased how they performed.

It's a long time since I've posted images, but I just wanted to add to the earlier posts with a few of my favourite photographs from Saturday's workshop with Raphaella.

The images will give an idea of the kinds of lighting and setups we covered in four hours, which included a complete introduction to studio photography and working with professional models.

Hi Philip
I've already mentioned to a few people that I'm happy to help with things like this for people who really want to learn.

I should point out that I didn't strictly 'organise' this.
I was approached and asked if I would hire a professional model and provide a workshop for a small group of ADAPS members who want to take their photography further.
There were four people including myself, which we felt was a good number and meant that people weren't getting in each other's way.

Thanks Andrew. Very nice image.

I hadn't used Interfit lighting before, but you're right that they performed very well indeed. I might be tempted....

Hi Andrew (and Tracey / Pam)

I just remembered this book. It's very good. I should have brought it with me on Saturday as it covers some of the things that you were experimenting with, eg the shots using the floorboards.

Thanks Paul - I really like the skin tones in the photo of Raph wearing the glasses.

For the benefit of any interested members, here's the effect I was trying to achieve:

Thanks Andrew.
I've emailed you some tips.

Nice shot. I liked what you were all doing with the one light and the floorboards at the end of the shoot.
