I'm a new member to ADAPS, and to the forum.

I'm looking for feedback on how I could improve as a photographer and where I should go next.

Hi Paul

I enjoyed looking through your gallery. The photography is interesting and quite different to the norm.

Particular favourites are 12 and 2.

I would say carry on doing what you're doing and enjoy your photography. And I hope that you don't fall into the trap of trying to take images to please judges and other critics.

I've had a look at your Portfolio and you seem to have a good eye for seeing a photo in every day things. I particularly like the first image, presumable taken on a New York underground train, I liked the low POV and the treatment you had given it, I also liked the B&W photo of the barber in his shop, this also looks like it could be NY.

Like Paul says, you need to take the photos you like taking and try not to get drawn into what other people think, as long as you enjoy what you are doing then that's all that matters. Have you thought about joining ePhotozine, it's an internet site aimed a photographers where they can display their work. It's free to join and people can comment and give feedback on your images, likewise, you can do the same on theirs. It's a good way of showing your work and getting feedback at the same time.

Thanks for taking time out and giving me some feedback on my work so far.

I do have to same the two images that you both chose are also my favourites. The Barber shop is actually Reg Dootsons Barbers (opposite Rileys, in Atherton), taken before he retired.

When you mentioned the low POV tracey... what is this? I'm not very technical minded when it comes to the use of the camera I think I just have a strong eye for composition. So I'm very much learning all the time when it comes to exposure, shutter speed, etc.

I will look into the ePhotozine you mentioned, sounds a good place to get constructive criticism.

POV = Point of View
Referring to the angle from which you took the shot
