Internet video sound problem

Hi - I wonder if anyone can help me?

Since last week my "pc/Vista" has had a sound problem when playing Internet videos. The sound is ok on CD'S, DVD's and the introduction part to Internet videos, but as son as this type of video starts to play the sound reduces to a noise as though it's playing under water. I thought my version of Internet Explorer may be the problem so I have just updated to the latest version but this hasn't worked.

Can anyone help me as it's driving me round the bend.

Regards
John

John

If you are on a landline the system may think there is an incoming telephone call.
On my windows 7 system right click the speaker symbol on the bottom right.
select open volume mixer, go to the communications tab.
The "reduce volume by 80%" is likely to be ticked.
Select "do nothing" and see if this fixes the problem.

John,

If Theo's reply does not help, it's most probably a problem with your Adobe Flash Player.
You could try upgrading to a later version, if one exists.

Thanks Theo and Philip

I tried Theo's suggestion and "it worked".
Why do Microsoft do such stupid things, I have spent hours trying to resolve this. Their "help and support systems" didn't help at all, inspite of all their blurb etc.

Thanks again and its nice to be back in the real world.
