Why the shrinkage?

Post by Walter Brooks »

My 600 pixel jpeg seemed to shrink to a quarter of that size by the time it reached ADAPS via Photobucket. Pammie's seems to have done the same. Any ideas as to why?

I think it must be something to do with the Photobucket site you both used.

I'm guessing that they don't like people hot-linking, so only supply a thumbnail when another site requests an image - perhaps in an effort to reduce bandwidth.

Photobucket privides several URLs for different purposes and you need to use the IMG one.

I suspect that the small images have been linked to the thumbnails rather than the full size image.

photobucket problems

Thanks for the info, I was driving myself mad trying to get my pic on there, computers are not exactly the most straightforward of things to me at times lol.
Thanks for the "commended".......although with such poor image quality I was expecting more of a "condemned"......!!
