With it being a bumper year due to the weather, this month’s competition theme has to be Bluebells. Lets get out there and capture some great images of this truly British flower (albeit that some are Spanish!)
Closing date Midnight on the 21st of May.
Best regards, Barry

Thanks for all the entries, as always a varied collection of images to make the judging that little bit harder, but here goes….
Ianuk50 Bluebells and small bee
A very small bee indeed, well seen and well lit. A bit more cropping would give the image more impact.
Carl
A good use of the thirds rule, but the background is a little distracting.
Keith Bluebells at Lyn Gwynant
Another good use of the thirds rule helps to lead the eye into the lake scene, well composed, good lighting and a nice clear image
GerryG Bluebell forest
I like the way the mist rises in the background, giving the forest an eerie feel.
Stu B
A good clear shot, there is detail in the flower heads and the background blur is not distracting.
Stelee Nearly blue
The distinctive shape of there flowers means you cannot fail to tell they are bluebells, but some colour would have been nice. Not really sure a B&W image works .
John Bluebells shot in the early evening at Arley Hall:
I like the close up shot of the bluebells and the addition of foliage in the foreground helps to frame the shot
Tracey Bluebells at Springwood
I like the way you have shown the Bluebells in their natural environment, plenty of light and colour..
Tom English/Spanish Bluebells.
Theses Bluebells really stand out from the background, but they look like they are trying to escape the forest rather than being at home there.
Pauline Marles Wood Ribchester
Another well-composed shot that shows the flower in its natural environment, good lighting and colour.
SteeWood Colours of Spring
A busy picture but no particular point of focus results in the viewers eye jumping around the image.
Pammie Bluebell in its' natural environment at Rivington
The flower is framed in a sea of leaves, well lit and well composed.
KT Bluebells at Alton Towers.
A colourful collection of bluebells but the background blur is distracting
After much thought, I have to award as follows
1st Place to Keith
2nd place to Stu b
3rd placed to John.
Thanks again to all that entered, Keith, over to you.
