What's the best way to focus a self portrait if there's no-one else about to stand where you're planning on standing, and you're using the camera's self timer?
I had an idea this morning for the forum comp (last minute, I know). I tried to give it a go, but as you can see it went wrong and my face is all out of focus (no comments that it's an improvement, please )
Focussing a self portrait.
Re: Focussing a self portrait.
Nice idea.
Put something where you are going to stand. Manually focus on that. Remove it. Operate camera and move into position.

I have a remote shutter you can half press to focus and then all the way to take it, but, agree with john. Get a tripod, hang a t-shirt on it, focus and then continue.
Nice handbag by the way.
