Really Right Stuff BH40 Ball & socket tripod head with "L" bracket for Nikon D80. £200. Rolls Royce of heads. L bracket enables very fast change from portrait to landscape with the need to adjust the ball and keeps the lens axis in the same vertical & horizontal planes.
"Manfrotto" style 4 section carbon fibre tripod. £100. Very quick to erect/collapse. 1.6 metres extended., retracted 0.58 metres. 1.86 Kg. rubber cushioned feet with retractable spikes. Very solidly engineered. the genuine Manfrotto version of this is about £300. Complete with canvas carry case.
