I'd like to add my thanks to 'the team' who gave up their Saturday morning too, it was very much appreciated.

I must say that more along the same lines would be very welcome, nudge-nudge. I think all who went along learned something to their advantage and the number that turned up proved it wasn't going to be a wasted effort on behalf of 'the team', or the club. Even the drinks were welcome & the whole experience beat the hell out of trudging around Tesco for a couple of hours..

A huge 'thank you' to all those concerned.

Hiya Paul sorry about that, I should have left it till Thursday, as I knew you were pretty keen as to what the problem could be. as I say I do apologise, but it seems the images were not that bad after all. It seems all that was needed was the ISO setting altering slightly. But as I said the Nikon guy, he will have to forgive me, I can't recall his name, the lad who likes his classic bikes. I think he won last Thursdays competition, well he tweaked it a little, and he reckons all is now ok. I am very grateful to him, cheers.

It was good to see how well attended Saturdays workshop was, everyone was eager to learn wether it was using photoshop or how to use the differant settings on their cameras,
Prior to coming to the club on Thursday Jonbeeza had posted some comments on the website about being disapointed about the results he was getting from his DSLR compaired to his partners mobile phone, after looking at and altering the settings on his camera we went outside and took a few shots, nothing wrong with the camera and Jon grasped the basics of how to use the camera, Jons comment about the fella in Jessops who said " a polarising filter would sort out his problem" and sold him a polariser and other filters, My advice was, get used to using your camera before you even think about polarisers etc,
I enjoyed the morning, and being able to help as I was helped when I first joined ADAPS many years ago.

Hiya Bert, sorry for forgetting your name, after all the time you spent helping me . I suppose it was logical that there would not be anything wrong with camera, just the fool trying to use it lol Again I suppose I should not have bothered with filters, being digital a lot can be done on the pc. Thanks Bert, was a pretty interesting day.

Something I've found is that you can read too much. Everyone has their own theories on how to do things and you end up even more confused than you were to start with. I seem to have consumed vast amounts of information from websites, magazines etc., and in the end the result was information overload..

I found it a lot easier to go along on Saturday, admit my total inability to grasp half of what I've read and have it explained in plain English with the added bonus of being shown on my own camera..., though I do think that when asked if I now understood my 'Er, nope' was getting wearing..lol. It did sink in eventually, even found out why I was having a problem.. maths was never my strong point... but the dividing up of the cake explanation got through.. hope it was a chocolate one.. and I like cake..!! ha-ha. Tom must have the patience of a saint and I thank Janice for help with the explanation that finally got through.

As others have stated a very informative morning. Thanks to Tom and KT for giving up their time. I learned a great deal from KT with her skills in photoshop.

Glad you were able to grasp it Kathy. How would all the beginners feel about getting together for a beginners photo shoot as I have found out that the more I use the camera, the more I learn. The hands on approach certainly reaps rewards.

=) I think next time the photoshop will be more subject based and hands on, so rather than observing and note taking, you can run through a project step by step on your laptops. Me and Tom will have a brainstorm and see what we can up with that would benefit the different skill levels.

Sounds fabulous to me KT... the more we get to experience with help on hand the better it will be for us all. I have the enthusiasum but, as of yet, not the experience to draw on..
