Hi Danny,
glad you took time to try out the b/w conversion.
I might be a bit biased but I do like this overall, clean whites and crisp darktones.
And it think it cleans up the skin tones a bit
what do you think, do you have a prefered choice between the 2 pics and their conversions?

I brought the original and the re-edit up side-by-side onscreen and I have to say that I actually prefer the original (though without the blue lips).
The blacks look more defined and there seems more punchy contrast overall.

Danny - go with whichever you prefer.

It's interesting that there are so many different ways to achieve results in post-processing. I got some books by Scott Kelby for Christmas and am reading through them, learning how he processes his model shots and portraits.

You do have to go with what you like best, and that what makes image making so fascinating, and frustrating- the element of personal choice !
