Don't know if this site has been posted before - wish id of known about it before
when i was contemplating what lens to buy, seems quite good on hire prices
and there's no deposit either - just a few questions to answer.
Just thought it may help someone else.

Re: Lens hire
If memory server me right, if you hire from Calumet and then buy the same lens from them, they refund your hire fee.
Not that I'm saying you should purchase from Calumet.

Re: Lens hire
Just thought i would update this.
I decided to hire a lens from them for the week, hired the canon 100-400
quite a good lens but god it was heavy!
anyway through out everything the company was good, email sent when it was posted out, text sent from the delivery company
to say the time they would deliver - couple of days before returning i was sent an email just as a reminder to say it was due back
and sent an email to say they had received it back, they do test the lens when they receive it back and they send you an email
to say how the test went.
you do get the full week, it was delivered the day before my hire started and i only had to send it back the day after it finished.
It was sent in a locked case - padlock was a little fiddley - everything was in the box, i paid for return also
which didn't cost that much more and instructions were in the box for return, the company who delivered it
also picked it up, called the the day before to ask them to collect it - would have liked a message to say when they were picking it up
but i didn't give them my mobile num, so don't know if they would or not if i had of done.
All in all a good experience - not that expensive and it gave me a chance to try one of the more expensive lenses which i never would have
got a chance to do otherwise, insurance is included in the hire price, although if anything does happen there is an excess of £150
they send you a copy of the terms and conditions and they are also on line, would recommend reading them before hire
as certain things are excluded.

Re: Lens hire
I have also used Lenses for Hire a few time now for various projects, always found them exceptional! I hired a 500mm F4 last year when I went to scotland and they where faultless with everything! Cracking price and everything taken care of, reserved the lens well in advance for me also, but only charged me when they shipped it out.
All in all I would concur with the above, one to use if its a lens your either thinking of buying but are not sure or need a lens you won’t get a lot of use out of on a daily basis (such as a fish eye etc).
Thanks, Rick
