This was taken last Saturday at Atherton town football club which i was asked to take some photo's for a memorial tournament. Out of all the shot's
i took this was my favourite one.
Just thought i would post this to let you see what ive been up to and see if others will post there pictures also

I've never tried to photograph football, so won't comment on the technicalities.
Isn't it a pity that the player's face is obscured by the corner flag? But if you had waited or moved you would have missed the shot.

Agreed Paul. I have tried this and it is difficult to get the moment just right. Well done on this and keep having a go - it is a lot of fun and something which I enjoy.

Hi Michael
I quite like the shot , take the point about the corner flag but considering it's your first attempt it was a good effort so it doesn't matter so much, you will learn about composition as you progress there are bits of kit you could add to your collection like a second camera remotely controlled ideal for sporting events if they are strategically placed of course like the back of the goals or on the halfway line as the teams enter the pitch looking up from ground level make good shots or even where you took this shot from except slightly more to one side.
Have a read of Scott Kelby, he talks a lot about sports photography.
