The Lanternist is Andrew Gill, collector, writer and presenter of a genuine Victorian Lantern Slide Extravaganza. At great expense, ADAPS brings his show for the exclusive entertainment of its members. If you want to dress up as well, please do so, but it's entirely up to you. This is quite an experience, so don't miss the chance to enjoy this glimpse into a different photographic world!

Hope everyone enjoyed Andrew Gill's Lanternist performance last night!

I'd like to thank Sue and Sue for adding to the flavour of the evening as well, with their wonderful Victorian dresses. A picture will follow I'm sure....

A most enjoyable evening and the two ladies looked lovely. The Lanternist was also quite dishy!!! I was amazed at the quality and clarity of the slides he presented and loved the fact that some of them were animated - must really have been something in the day. It was interesting to have a short chat with him at the end of the night about the slides, how they were made and the preservation. I am fascinated by images and stories of how we used to live - and I hope in years to come, people will look at the photographs that we have taken and say "thank god that was recorded".
