Hi,

The Ted Colman Challenge takes place every year and is a multi club battle at Rochdale Camera Club.
Last year we took part for the first time and came a very commendable 3rd place.
It is an interesting and entertaining affair as we pick our pictures for the next round as we go along, assuming we haven't been knocked out yet.

This years Contest is to take place on

Tuesday 20th May at ..

Syke Methodist Church Hall, Syke Road, Syke, Rochdale OL12 9TF

You are welcome to come along and watch,as we do battle against many other clubs, including Wigan, Chorley, Rochdale, ( both of them ) and that other one from just down the by pass ;-] .
Not had word of the start time but I would get there for 7.00pm to be in the safe side.

Keith.

Hi
The start time for this has now been confirmed as 7.30, so if you are going along to watch, aim to get there early to get a seat, it's not a massive venue.

Cheers,
Keith.

Well, we're back from this event, and we didn't win, but we did make it through to a very respectable degree. Keith has the exact details.

There were me, Keith, Gerry, Stuart and Michael at the competition. It would be great to see more people there, so maybe next time? Although five from one club is actually quite good, the more the better. You might even find it entertaining. :)

Hi,
Well it was an interesting night to say the least.
There were 21 clubs involved so we sat through 178 images altogether, so it was also a long night.

We scored 66 points in the first round with our first four images so we made it to round two,
where we scored 69 points and progressed nicely into the third and final round before the tie breaker,
but alas we lost out way at this point and we only managed to score 67 points, and a respectable, but still slightly disappointing 8th place.

Comments about any aspects of the evening other than our scores are probably best not publicised at this point, , but lets say that there were some interesting and sometimes bewildering comments being made about some of the pictures. ( you had to be there, you really did :? ), as of course five of us were.

Thanks to everyone who let me use your pictures and especially to those who attended.
Next year more people should come along, it's an interesting evening, in many ways...

Cheers, keith.

Coming 8th out of 21 clubs is good. In my view a respectable position. Who won?

Hi Tracey, ( and everyone else ),
I have just seen that a full report has been posted today on the front page of the L&CPU website.
