The clipping / cutout on version 2 is much better than the original.

Sorry to sound harsh though, if you were meaning for it to look as though he really is in the 'forest', then it just doesn't. There's just too many discrepancies between the subject and the background for it not to look fake. If you're just aiming it as a piece of 'digital art' then it has potential, but needs work.

I suspect these digital montages need hours of patience and skill for them to look believable. Call me a cynic but I haven't yet seen one at ADAPS that has convinced me.

Stick with it Sue. Keep practising and you'll get there.

Thanks Paul, he's not quite in the picture but i will keep trying. Thanks for your comments, will keep trying, perhaps a blending mode will join the two together
