For the next competition I thought I'd pick an old favourite of mine - Bridges Not bothered if it's old or new, rail or road even a fallen tree across a stream, it's up to you. Good luck. I thought Midnight on Friday the 16th of December

Right, lets get too it.......
Brooklyn Bridge - BydoR9
Just goes to show you don't need to spend £1000s on camera equipment. It's the eye for a good photo' that counts. B&W works fine, well done. I find the 'No Thru Traffic' sign quite amusing, hope it was meant. And two bridges !
Prague Bridge at Dusk - Tracey
A lot going on without being over complicated - every time I look at it I see something different. The lights down the bridge walls are stunning. Taken at a nice time in the evening, any later and I suspect the sky would have lost it interest.
Bridges - Bazzasmeg
Lovely shot on a lovely day, but what makes this shot for me, is the far bridge 'framed' by the near bridge. Nice sky with nice reflections and the walkers adding interest on the tow path - good shot and looks a very pleasant day on't canal.
Menai Bridge - Janice
Very dramatic sky and what looks like a fast running tide through 'the swellies' ( I've sailed through there ). A very iconic bridge from an unusual angle, hope you didn't get too wet.
Chirk Railway Viaduct - Graham Otty
Yes, I know what mean about shooting through foliage, I'm sure there are competition judges about who would knock points off but I quite like it. Although,......I can't help thinking it misses a train going across just to add a bit more colour.
Clifton Suspension Bridge - Mike Aspinall
How many pictures have you seen of this bridge? Not that many with the tide out and making interesting patterns on the river bed. Dramatic sky with the sun pouring through, great. I like the additional colour from the camera obsura cave platform and the leaves in the left foreground.
Haddon Bridge - John
Nice stone bridge from an interesting angle with great reflections from the dark river. It's amazing how many shades of green there are.......tell the lamb/sheep to move on.
Bridge - Al c Field
Got me confused this shot at first until I studied it a bit more. I was trying to figure out the towpath diversion signs, they seem to be pointing to each other but of course they're not they're pointing down alleyway because the route under the bridge is blocked. Love the flashes of colour, the green of the bridge and graffiti along with the red signs and their reflections.......even the coke bottle has its place. Shame about all the angles of the fencing etc adding to and accentuating the fact that the shot has been taken at on slight list.
Castlefield Relection - Gordon Armstrong
Very clear shot on a perfect day. Great colours with great reflections and shadows. The staining on the brickwork of the bridge support is fabulous.
So, for me it's .........1st Bridges by Bazzasmeg
2nd Prague Bridge at Dusk by Tracey
3rd Brooklyn Bridge by BydoR9
thanks to everyone who took the time to enter, good luck in the next comp. and Merry Christmas
