This week is the final meeting of the year and we'll be having a social gathering, with a bit of a buffet and some good chat no doubt. After which, we can all wend our way towards Christmas and all its fun, trials and tribulations!
Also this week the Competitions Department will be doing some experiments to see if it is feasible to project a larger image on print competition nights, without inconveniencing our enjoyment of the prints. We will be able to watch them and see how it goes!
Hopefully see you on Thursday, but if not then have a great Christmas and New Year and we'll see you in 2017!

Anybody who wants to add their name to the list needs to contact Tracey ASAP, or contact me and I'll pass the info along.
Last night was very pleasant, lots of good chat, good food (many thanks to those who brought stuff in!) and an interesting experiment in projection of prints. John Hardman brought in a very interesting video device for print projection, just a pity that it wasn't practical to use it live in a competition scenario.
It was decided to make copies of the prints in February using a DSLR, Lesley will do this, and then to use the playback of the camera to project the copies. In this way we avoid having to set up a laptop as well, so hopefully keeping it simple.
A big majority of people voted to give this a try, so we'll see how it goes and if we like it, great. If we don't then we don't have to take it on permanently and we'll look at other solutions.
