Hi,

Apologies for not being at the club so often lately, but it clashes with my crown green bowling, during the summer.

Just a forward on my talk on Thursday 3rd, July 'Manufacturers' Flash - a practical on the theory', so you've an idea whats happening.

Though I'll be using my Canon gear probably 90%+ of the talk/demo will be of relevance to all makes of digital and film slr users.

I've bribed a model (well step daughter Kerry) and the camera will hopefully be linked to the projector similar to the 'Camera Handling Techniques Night' back in May.

It will take a similar format, with some demo's then questions, kind of interactive hopefully rather than listening to me all the time.

It will start with on camera flash, leading through to off camera wireless flash.Included will be the use of one flash with off-camera cord, Stroboframe (Camera flip bracket), abbc (a better bounce card and variations ), Lambecy style flash diffusers and the Lastolite Eyzbox hotshoe. Then there will be a two flash wireless setup with wireless connection.

Thats just the equipment side, hopefully with time to explore along the way, direct, bounced, diffused flash....With explanations on the relevance or not of shutter speeds, high speed synch, ettl etc. Hmmm how many hours have we got!

Lastly, as an added bonus (or should that be complication), if the setup works, sometimes I'll be adjusting and shooting the camera by means of my laptop mouse and all the settings including the view of the model should be displayed on the big screen for you to see, you'll even be able to help me focus the shot. The techno's among us might know how thats done.

John. can you ensure the projector is there on the night.

Cheers,
Phil

Sounds great, Phil, and the projector will definitely be there.
