I have been using the Epson 255 gsm A4 gloss paper but at £ 24 for a pack of 50 I am beginning to question if this is the right way to go.
I do want a very high quality print and have had tremendous problems with third party ink cartridges in my Epson R800. (so I am back on the originals at £ 78 a set)
Can any one offer an opinion on alternative papers and where to get them from?

Any help is appreciated

We like Jessops papers very much and our suspicion is that they are Tetenal. Whatever they are they work very well with Epson inks in Epson printers.

Have you considered a lab? A 10x8 or 12x8 printed at Costco for about a pound, or 50p at Pro-Am Imaging?

If you want something cheaper maybe try the RC Lite gloss from Fotospeed? £12.72 for 50 sheets...

I had an Epson 1290 A3 printer on which I mainly used Ilford Galerie smooth pearl and Galerie gloss, I never had any problems even though I used compatable Inks, the 1290 died and needing another A3 printer as most of the people buying my prints want A3 sizes I bought an Epson 2400, as I refuse to pay Epson prices for ink and knowing other photograhers with continuous ink systems opted for the Permajet sytem ( much better than the Lyson or Fotospeed) even for the A3 2400 the initial cost of the complete set up is less than 3 sets of Epson cartridges, and with the system you also get nine 125ml bottles of ink, which has the same 75 plus years as the Epson K3 ink, I have used the Ilford papers with no problems and as I bought the system at Focus I got a 50 box of Permajet A3 gloss paper free.
I have seen prints from some of the companies mentioned and although you can't knock the prices the quality doesn't seem consistent enough to sell prints.
I wouldn't pay £78 pounds for Epson inks,(£90 plus for the 2400 ) think about a cis system, try Ilford galarie, Permajet, or as John says Jessops papers.
