Thursday 7th August 2008

Post by John »

This club night is billed as "The Problem Page" and will be me and a team of experts, assembled at great expense. The experts are Len Hudson, Harry Gladson, Bert Haddock and, hopefully, Phil Boak.

This is your opportunity to put questions to the team. Although I'm sure tinged with a certain degree of humour, the questions and the answers will be largely intended to be about photography and be helpful.

You are invited to think up your questions between now and then, please write them on a card and let me have them on the night. Questions can be e-mailed or PM'd to me prior to Thursday if you wish. There will also be a bank of questions culled from Internet Forums for us to draw on should we need to.

See you there!
Best regards

John

Here is one. Why do the bubbles in Guinness seem to fall down the outside of the glass? This is a very important question and I expect it to be given due consideration followed by a 45 minute presentation from the experts on the night supported with a powerpoint presentation. Obviously I think you will need to consume lots of Guinness to come to a conclusion. :-d :]

It's all to do with Depth of Field and the Hyperfocal Distance. Consume enough Guiness and these both become infinitely variable. A most amazing effect I can assure you.
