Cameraclix & GirlzART - John Lyons Workshop

For a modest £50, Sunday afternoon found me down at John's small but intimate studio dabbling in my introduction to 'one to one' 'Fine Art Nude' photography and I have to say it was a fantastic 4 - 5 relaxed hours.
I was pretty well seduced by his presentation down at the club a few weeks ago and decided to have a go.
The session went 'off piste' straight away with me asking loads of questions that were somewhat against his plan but we soon got back on track.
After a couple of hours of valuable 'classroom' stuff the model arrived and off we went. The next few hours seemed to fly - snappin, talking, discussing positions, F stops and laughing throughout - the atmosphere was dead easy. 150+ images.
With John's suggestions on model and lighting positions -just one light-no reflector- the results were fabulous. Women really are great to shoot.
The next step is Photoshop but I'll be going back for sure - great value and for me, a massive learning curve.
Wouldn't mind doing this for a living !

That sounds really interesting, Tony.
It's a style that I very much admire and would like to dabble with myself.

WOW!!! Well I've just seen Tony's fantastic testimonial to me. Thank You....VERY MUCH!

If anybody is trying to find out about me there are a few websites to view:

http://www.j27photoschool.com This is the Photoschool for general aspects of photography, with a sign up form to get the schools occasional newsletter "J27 Tips & Tricks"
http://www.j27photoschool.com/IC This is the area of the photoschool specialising in teaching Fine Art Nude. Both these sites are under development, as I am working with a TV production company who are filming me teaching. The aim is to produce for sale or download streaming videos and DVD's of my teaching from total camera & photoshop basics up to Masterclass levels. There is a "taster" video download available on the site, showing me teaching Portrait photography at Macclesfield Camera Club (you might recognise a few faces???)

http://www.cameraclix.com Is my main business trading name and this site shows much of my social & commercial work but virtually none of the nudes, as this would conflict with my wedding market-place...there are currently 6,500 images to viewe on this site!

http://www.girlzart.co.uk is the website showing the client-centred Fine Art Nudes. This is the "front desk" of my fine art work, so there's nothing very risque on this site...but all very arty-farty. None of the nudes shown are from models but all are of normal women 25-69yrs old. Most are ladies in their 40's who have had children, have the tummies, bums and stretch marks of motherhood but who, I think, all look fantastically beautiful after my photography (but I would say that wouldn't I).

Other sites that involve me and are run by me, include http://www.art2show.co.uk and http://www.lyonslife.co.uk where you will realise there's far more to me than just photography!

...then if anybody wants to call me for a chat my number is 07946 477 005 / 0161 480 1200 and the best time to get me is between 19.30-23.30 Mon-Fri or anytime at weekends. I can sometimes be a difficult person to pin down. However, if you're at a club night and you see a very tall, very skinny person you've not met before...it could be ME! Please come and say hello. I love teaching and talking to people. I don't charge for answering questions when I can and as you can see most of my courses are in the region of £50/head which is hardly pricey for the time involved.

Thanks again Tony...I'm sure we'll be spending more time with each other in the near future!
