Hi Andy
Thanks for posting some images. I hoped that my messages would encourage more people to post photos for comment.
It's really good to see you practising like this. You're showing a lot of promise.
Now for a few comments.....
1. I like the tones in this. The purple background fits well within the overall image, I think.
Unfortunately, I don't think it has much more than this going for it.
= The girl's expression looks a bit forced.
= Her make-up is, in my opinion, badly plastered on. The red cheeks and blue eyes don't work for me.
= The pose makes her thighs look big.
= The general feel is more alarmed than alluring.
Sorry - I don't like being so critical. Have another go with her if you like and get her to loosen up a bit more.
Believe me - I've been through all this myself...
2. This is much much much better. The best of the bunch for me.
This girl is so much more comfortable in front of the camera. Effortless. Glamour is linked to sex appeal and, for me, this girl has it.
It's a classic pose and it works well. Perhaps you could have shown more of the knickers without cropping so tightly, but it's not so bad. The nipples are a nice touch. I like see-thru clothing. It's a pity about the black band cutting through the nipple, but probably can't be helped.
If it was mine, I would probably remove the small skin crease in her right side and the skin creases near her right armpit. It's just a slight distraction.
I disagree with Lee. I'd like to see this image in colour.
3. I'm not sure about this one... Is it playful, or is it cheesy? Perhaps a bit of both... It's the finger to the mouth that is the problem for me. Yes, I've probably taken similar shots.
Fingers and mouths can look damn sexy and suggestive. Here, it doesn't quite work for me. That's not to say that others might not like it though.
There's no doubt though that she has modelling potential. You should work with her a lot more if you can.
Things that I would work on to remove probably include:
= The skin crease in her right side again.
= I'd consider cropping higher up her legs, or working on the skin to remove some of the unevenness in skin tone/texture. Legs can sometimes be tricky if the model gets cold or hot you can sometimes get a 'corned beef' complexion on her legs, if you understand what I mean.
I think you've done really well. You should definitely try to arrange some more shoots with the second girl. Betwen you, you could create some great images.
Best regards
Paul
