Competition #29 - Self Portrait

The only rule for this is that this HAS to be taken by yourself (no cheating!) using timer for example - though I can think of a few other creative ways which could be used...
This is also a good excuse to update your avatar on the forum too!
Closing date is midnight 28th January. Good luck!

The sandals fell apart last year. Perhaps they were suffering from altitude sickness.

I have made a video tutorial of how I did this. To see it go to:
http://www.technitrain.com/photo_editing.htm and scroll down to the "smashed mirror effect" tutorial. - enjoy!

A good number of entries here, thanks all for entering. This is the first time I've had to judge a photography competition so bear with me! I hope you don't find my comments too harsh
Mike
Really like the idea behind this. Perhaps cropped a little tightly and would like to have seen the whole sphere.
John
Like the poweful expression and the novel idea of taking a picture of your editing - we all know how you did it now!
Bazzasmeg
I'm afraid the wonky horizon spoils this for me a bit. Like the colours of the evening sun and the moon.
Ruth
Another good idea though think this may have been a bit stronger without the shadows on the left of the picture.
Redshanksnapper
I really like this. One of the best uses of this type of photoshop filter I have seen and in context too. Well thought out and executed. To be hypercritical I would have used a harder light on the photo of your back and photoshopped the "shadow" a little harder too.
Sue
I'm not a fan of the "posterisation" type processing on this I'm afraid.
Sunsworth
Not really working for me as a self portrait.
BernyM
Clever idea Berny - you broke the mirror taking your photo?
Pam
Nice lighting and crop though not quite what I consider a portrait.
Mark
Like the use of light - the blown out shoulder doesn't bother me at all in this context and feel it adds to the image.
Len
You're a braver man than me posting this
Keith
Interesting eyedea though I feel this is more "digital art" rather than portrait.
oakeycoke
The rather large shadow of your nose is distracting and not convinced of the HDR effect on a portrait.
