Studio Flash Kit

Post by John »

I'm just about to buy a portable studio flash kit - just something simple like the Interfit, with two flash heads, softbox, brolly, stands, etc.

All in a bag ready to carry.

Before I do, anyone about to try and sell such an item? Must be complete and in pristine condition.... :)
Best regards

Hi John,
I know I mentioned the lights I am selling for someone a while back but I am still waiting for him to get back to me with the details, so can't help you there at the moment.
I sold the Hasselblad for him but he doesn't seem to be in much of a rush to get the rest of it sorted out.

regards, keith.

John

I have just received the lumens8 kit that Mark Cleghorn sells for £ 299
2 x 400W heads (with modelling lamp, infrared trigger, and controls in 1/32 steps)
2 x stands
2 x brollies
1 x wheeled bag
spillkills, leads, syncs etc. Just needs a softbox.

Seems to work fine and looks a solid bit of kit.
The only drawback I can see on them is that the flash tube is not user replacable.
When I spoke to Mark to chase my order he mentioned that there were only about 100 kits left.

If you want I can bring it round to the club one of these days. All we would need is a model.

To be honest John... The fact that Bowens are bringing out all new singing and dancing DIGITAL heads { the 250R and the 500R } in March... and have introduced teh COMPACT 200 +400 range... but they only have an on off swith for the modelling lamp...NO brightness control... means that their 250 and 500 Gemini and Esprit kits will HAVE to come down in price... I did a big bit of searching round focus.. Re dealers and prices...

I was after the Twin head 500Watt Gemini kit...in a travel bag...but NO brollies... with softboxes instead... { to go with my bowens 250's and other heads....
The concensus was that wait a wee bit and speak to Bowens themselves ...and chase up an old style kit...as they must shift them...

You could price up an INTERFIT kit and challenge Bowens or another dealer to beat it... just to make them offer you a deal... after all you are going to spend money ..you may as well make them work for it...

Just My tuppenceworth...
