CLUB OUTING gardens and jousting

Post by pammie »

hello all,

See http://www.arleyhallandgardens.com/even ... rials.html

How about a club outing on SUNDAY 24th May 2009? The cost is normally £11 per adult, but if we can get a group of 15 or more, the admission would be £7.50 per adult, which is only £2 more than the normal admission. There is jousting at 1pm, show jumping, country fair, food stalls, and of course the gardens!

We could adopt the usual car share policy and meet there in time for the 10am opening. How about we take a picnic and meet up to have a look at each others' images before we go home?

Anyone interested?

Put us down for 3 please.
My girls will go and see the horse trials, leaving me to take some pictures.
If we are short of numbers to make up the 15 please let me know as I can possible russle up some more from the yard.

I am now hoping we will get 15 people for this trip. Is it possible please you could bring me your £7.50 each over the next 2 meetings, so I can book and pay for the tickets. If anyone is under 16 - I am just waiting to see if there is a different rate for them.
Thanks

I had an email today re: Arley gardens.

There is no group discount avalable for the Horse Trails. I think you may be getting it confused with the Garden Festival.
The cost of the tickets are as follows :
Adult Advance £9.50 Gate £11.00
Seniors Advance £8.50 Gate £10.00
Child Advance £3.50 Gate £4.00
Family (2+3) Advance £22.00 Gate £26.00
If you would like to book tickets you can either do it online or I would be happy to process the application over the phone.

In view of the above, and questions I have had about meeting up and getting tickets, may I suggest the following:

We each buy our own advance tickets as above, online or over the phone. Then those who want to wait to meet up at the main entrance can do so, those who want to go in and meet later can do that, as we can swap mobile numbers beforehand. This also saves me holding on to other people's money.

I am trying to keep everyone happy - which we all know is impossible!!

Thanks, Pammie

The information in the email send to Pammie is incorrect.
I have just talked to Shiela Bebbington at Arley Hall (ext 20) and she confirmed that there is a group discount price of £ 7.50 per person for a group of 15.(adults)
This is clearly listed in the ticket price information on the web.
The information was not listed on the general flyer hence the confusion. (and new members of staff)
The tickets should be bought in advance.
I belief there is a post/packing/handling charge of £ 2.50 per transaction.

There is no charge for the car park.
I think this is called "back to square one"

Here is another email I got this morning:

Morning Pamella
I must apologise, I have given you incorrect information.
There is a group discount this year for the Horse Trials... £7.50 per peson (groups of 15+)
If you would like to book I can process the tickets over the phone or you can book online
Once again apologies for my mistake
Regards
Sue Ellams

So yes, it is back to square one. If I collect your ticket money this week (pos next week at the club) then I can make a block booking. We will all just have to meet up at a specific time that's all. Seeing as I will have the tickets, I will wait and give you your ticket as you arrive, and meet up later.

Like I said, I'm just trying to do the simplest for everyone....

I would have loved to be involved with this activity. It would of given me an opportunity to get involved more. On that day though my daughter will be having her first holy communion and I will be photographing her and her friends. I hope everyone else has a great day and look forward to seeing some shots of the day.
