Annual print entries
A number of folk appear to have been caught out by the earlier dates for the annuals.
If you intended to put prints in and did not manage today's deadline please email me on the adaps@dib...... address and we will see what can be done.

Re: BMX Championships
Phillip You have caught the moment brilliantly. I wish I had been there. But, in my opinion, you have not done the picture justice in post production. :( With a couple of tweaks (curves, levels on selected area etc.) you can actually see the girl's eyes and make the wheels sparkle. If this is in RAW...
Re: Fringing
Tracey The bad new is: In digital sensors, axial CA results in the red and blue planes being defocused (assuming that the green plane is in focus), which is relatively difficult to remedy in post-processing The good news is: Due to the Canon EF lens mount all-electronic lens communication and coupli...

Re: Automatic formatting of digital comp images
Barry Unfortunately Elements does not have the action functionality but here is the recipe. As with baking a cake follow it to the letter and you will be OK. First crop the image the way you want it to look without formatting it at the same time. i.e. select the crop tool and hit the clear button at...

Re: RAW vs Jpeg wite balance correction in Lightroom
Why convert to JPEG? If you are using RAW to fix exposure problems fine but if you are trying to get the very best print file I would have thought 8 or 16 bit TIFF would be more appropriate. Oh and whilst you are at it, how about ditching sRGB for Peophoto and convert to a proprietary print profile ...

Re: Annual competitions
Good point Mike Unfortunately Bob Dennis appears to be making his own rules here. Both the PAGB and FIAP rules have not been changed. To level the playing field a little I will accept images that show animals in their natural environment regardless of where it was taken. This does not mean that by c...

Re: Annual Prints/Digital.
They can be new or previously used in a monthly. You can not use an image that has previously been used in an annual regardless on wether this was print or digital. Please read the category definitions carefully in particular the natural history one. No dogs, cats, geraniums, fusias etc. The fact th...

Re: CANON 5D Mk lll
That looks like one hell of an over-priced, under-speced piece of kit to me.
I don't think this is going to give the Nikon D800 a run for its money.
Any one interested in a set of Canon lenses?
