Re: Portrait Night Friday 6th March 2009
Hi John, Both myself and Lesley would be interested you will obviously get more than the 6 from the replies so far . Would it perhaps be possible to have 6 photographers and others who can just observe and take notes - or are we getting too complicated!!!! Good idea Gilly - I'd be up for that too, ...

Yes, I have now won the coveted SOTW title for two consecutive weeks at work :-d I had sneaked up to an amazing 15 stones, so after New Year we all (at work) decided to diet together. Re: Problems with SD cards
I've witnessed this problem myself some time ago. The camera was a Samsung Pr0-815 (not that that matters).

Re: Vicious Thugs!!!
Thanks everyone! Son-in-law came home after his op and is in a great deal of pain still, but there's little they can do about that - he's just gonna have to cope with it for a few weeks. Luckily, there was someone there to make things better - his son... http://www.mcqart.com/alfie/alfiexmas600w4.jpg

I wouldn't mind, but he's only 5ft nothing! Just heard they're not operating today - they want the swellings to go down a bit more.

Vicious Thugs!!!
On Saturday night, my wife and I babysat our grandson Alfie so that our daughter and son-in-law could have a night out in town. Wish we hadn't now, because the son-in-law got really badly beaten up by a gang of three idiots. He was knocked unconcious and his head hit the ground hard, resulting in hu...

Re: As promiced ... Following up my Urbex talk last week
Wow, it's funny you should mention this because my cousin recently brought URBEX to my attention and when I looked at some of the sites, I was taken aback by the great photography opportunities. There is the element of danger of course, not to mention the trespass, but I find it all very fascinating...

Can't seem to find one John. I wonder if you mean the 55mm. That seemed to be a highly rated lens in its day.

Re: Can U Recommend A Nikon Macro Lens?
Thanks guys! Like I said to Phil, I've now decided to make use of my 35-105 from my old F4 kit. I was probably rushing into things when looking for a modern macro lens. Probably better to spend money on a Speedlight to replace my SB-26. It's brilliant with the F4 but is non-TTL with the D300. Mind ...

Hi Chris and welcome! I only joined the club a couple of weeks ago myself, so I'm a bit of a newbie like you. I knew it was the right club for me as soon as I stepped thru the door. As you'll find out, it has a real active buzz about the place - so different from other clubs I've tried where the at...

Re: Can U Recommend A Nikon Macro Lens?
Many thanks for taking the time to reply Phil - it's appreciated. Since posting that request for advice, I've looked at a lot of lenses online and read a whole bunch of reviews. Typically, the lenses which come out the best are those which cost a bloody arm and a leg, so I've decided to hang fire an...
