Re: competition #259 MOODY MONO
Hi everybody Thank you for the entries. The problem of winning one of these comps. is setting and judging the next one. All the entries are fine but to my eyes lacked the 'moodiness' I was looking for. The two which stood out for me were Gordon's Dark Dream and Graham's Southwold. I have gone for Gr...

competition #259 MOODY MONO
Hi I sometimes think that a good monochrome gives better emotion in a picture than in colour so:- Please give me a mono image to convey mood/ emotion/feelings etc. An angry sky, evening moonlight, a Wuthering Heights landscape, a super portrait etc. You get my drift (hopefully) Closing date midnight...

Re: competition #258 an image that works because of colour
Well thanks Gordon.
Wasn't sure if this old picture (all of mine are old these days) would be too 'out of the box' or not and with all of the other
colourful shots didn't think it would win.
Thinking cap on for the next topic.

Re: Competition #248 PORTRAITS NOT TAKEN IN A STUDIO
Well I set the competition and you gave me the headache. I have to make judgements but remember they are only my opinions and not written in stone. ANDY - Cracking start with this portrait. Focus on the eyes ( in this case just the one) they say and you have done just that. Super sharp with neutral ...

Competition #248 PORTRAITS NOT TAKEN IN A STUDIO
Hi Gang A few years ago I set this subject which did quite well for entries. Not everyone has the use of a studio/model to take their pictures so please give me (once again) your best portraits (human or animal) head and shoulders etc. or full length fully clad or nude, colour or black and white, wi...

Re: Competition #247 - people in uniforms
Cheers Mel
Taken at at World War re-enactment some time ago in Lytham thanks to Chris Harrison and his lovely wife Jayne who took me under their wings.
It was the expression on this chap's face that got to me. Not sure if I was in his army who I would be afraid of. Him or the enemy.

Re: Made the most of a bad year - photography
No surprise Maestro. A cracking set of images my friend.
I miss being next to you when you were complaining about some of the Judges (usually right) and have watched in awe how your standard
blossomed over the years.
Well done and keep it up.
