Saturday PI workshop for beginners

Post by Janice Freeman »

Many thanks to Tom and KT for this workshop. It must be very difficult to cope with all the different versions we are all using! Despite this, it is the knowledge of what can be done and the different approaches to methods that is important. Once we have that in our minds, then we can play around with our own versions to produce the same effects. It also provides an insight into the terminology used and understanding what it actually means ie. distort v perspective controls. Keyboard shortcuts, copyright and organizing were great and will make working on the photos much simpler and quicker. These simple basics are just what we need to give us confidence to have a go. I actually learned a way to colour pop using my software following the Thursday night show last week. Talk about excited - shows what a sad social life I have! Your valuable time is REALLY appreciated. Many more please. :-d

Delighted to hear it went well and it's always good for a quick note of appreciation to get posted. A lot of work goes into these things, so well done KT and Tom.
Best regards

I think we have 1 more workshop for this side of 2011 Alan.

Thank you for your kind words, it is just so good to see so many people getting something out of this. It is a little crowded and busy, but I hope everyone got something out of it. Big thank you to Pammie for the brews! xxx

I've put a small hand-out together for the basics I covered today, not sure if Tom is doing one for his <pokes Tom>. If you were at the workshop you are welcome to email me for the hand-out, if you wasn't at the workshop but would like a hand-out anyway it may not make much sense without seeing what we actually did, so come speak to me or email me about it.

Any questions regarding Photoshop tuition, suggestions, feedback or more advance work let me know and we will see what we can arrange.

I would just like to endorse what KT as said above. I do hope the people who attended thought it was worth coming, learned something and it gave them more confidence to use PS.

I too will get some notes together (when KT pokes you – boy you know you’ve been poked) and if you require them or any other info’ I'll give you my contact details.

Thanks once again for all your kind remarks and I hope the session encouraged you use PS with more self-assurance.

I would also like to give my thanks to Pammie for her support and help, which helped the whole event run more smoothly, it was much appreciated.

Play and enjoy,

Tom.

A big thank you to Tom and KT for sharing their knowledge, it was very much appreciated and presented in a straightforward manner which makes it so much easier to remember. Having said that I will still be emailing to request a copy of the notes. :-}}

May I echo chickfreemans sentiments re this morning’s workshop. Indeed, a big thank you to both Tom and KT for giving up their valuable time to guide us through the some of the intricacies of Photoshop. Manuals and on line are help are all very handy, however, I really believe there is no substitute for hands on learning under the tutorage of such knowledgeable individuals. :-d

Thanks again.

Janice my lovely, you will need to include your email in the message as when you email me via the forums it uses the forum email and not yours to email me.

Can't post my email direct on the forum because the spam bots pick them up.

Many thanks Tom and KT for a great workshop this morning, and for all the time and effort you must have put into the preparation. It was very helpful and we learned an awful lot. Thanks also for giving up your Saturday morning to help others in the club. It's much appreciated.
