On Borrowed Time

Post by mike-e »

Here is an image from Will Travis's On Borrowed Time production from Westleigh High School.
Taken on Sunday the 18th.

A Time travel extraveganza, this scene dipicts 1 of our travellers sat in despair whilst 2 sister are resting in one time zone whilst their father is interrogatefd by the Nazis in a an alternate time zone - heavy stuff for a 'youth' theatre group.

Straight-ish shot just exposure, white balance and curve adjustments done in Adobe Camera Raw (ACR)
Here are the tecky bits.
Handheld, ISO1600, Shutter priority 80th of a second, with +0.7 exposure compensation, at f4
Comments very welcome please

A challenging exposure situation, very well handled. I especially like the contrast between the dark blues and the lit far stage.
Best regards

Hi Mike

I don't think I would have even attempted to take that picture, it's so dark, but you have done a good job with very little noise and no camera shake. Hats off to you.

I knew Will when I worked on the Wigan Pier Marketing campaigns many years ago. Smashing bloke. He was one of the Wigan Pier actors. It's great to see how much he's done.

Your image could easily be used in the programme or to promote the play. It's nicely atmospheric and the blue tones really add to the overall effect. Nice one.
