Thurs 19th - Gentlemens' Evening

Post by Paul Jones »

Thursday 19th January - Gentlemens' Evening: a challenge to the men of the club to show their latest works

I've just finished putting a short presentation together for this Thursday evening.

Which other gentlemen are stepping forward to volunteer? 8)

Well, if it's just me and Bert the evening should be over in around 13 minutes...  8)

Who else is feeling brave enough to take the challenge?

Hi,
I've put together one which lasts five minutes. As I haven't done one before I am not sure if it will project properly.

I haven't had chance as I've been too busy. I can't get there tonight either, unfortunately.

Tonights evening was very enjoyable and demonstrated yet again the breadth and scope of our photography at Atherton. Whatever our chosen topic or subject, the methods used to present it for pleasure or competition, we excell in showing the best side of our chosen hobby. I enjoy my photography, I enjoy seeing others work and getting inspiration, but most of all I like the being a part of something greater than each of us individually - 'OUR CLUB'. Well done to all those who contributed to tonights event and those who continue to swell our ranks. I am proud whenever new members come along to see just what we do at Atherton - long may it continue.
P.S. John please may we have an AV sub-group (grovel grovel); we promise not to make a mess!!

Hats of to the gentlemen this evening, a very pleasant a diverse one it was too.
The breadth of styles from all the others who presented work this evening shows what a wealth of talent we have, be they established or new members.

Its great to see such a good selection of AV presentations too
- I for one would definitely welcome a separate AV evening/ sub group-
there is an exciting buzz around those who are keen to follow this path
lets hope we can make it happen soon

Well gentlemen you did us proud. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening - what a mix! :-d

Well done gents - ladies we have until next year for the rematch!! Get snapping!

Ian, I would love to be a part of the AV Group - I am a complete beginner though and will need help from you and Mike E, if that's okay? I have P to Exe and can just about manage fade in/out and I can get a track to run with it!! You know what you are up against...... :h!:

What a brilliant evening, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well done guys. I agree with Ian, it is great being part of something bigger. I would be interested in an AV group too.

Call me dumb (if you must) but I have only just worked out what AV is Duuh! Sorry to have missed the Gentlemen's evening - sounds as if it has been very interesting, exciting and stimulating with people chomping at the bit to get involved and have a go. Really getting withdrawal symptoms so thank god for this forum where I can keep up to date. Well done Gentlemen.
