BORING SUNSETS
One of the most abused subjects by judges perhaps. One comment that I well recall was 'another boring sunset'. Maybe!!

Re: BORING SUNSETS
Boring? Never, Mike. I love sunsets and the different colours and textures that they can produce. I haven't taken one - yet, but when I do, I hope they are as good as these. I cant pick one that I like more than the other, the first one is nicely set off with the promenade shelter and the ornate bench and the lovely refelction on the water. A peaceful scene.
The second one is more dramatic with the tiny figure dwarfed by the rough waves, and just the reflection this time. Lovely images.

Re: BORING SUNSETS
Thanks Janice
I should have said that these shots were taken on a recent trip to (wait for it) Blackpool at around 8pm. I couldn't
be bothered taking my Canon outfit so they were taken on a compact camera.
I got lucky with the beach scene as a gull flew just about right on the 'thirds'. Clever bird.
Cheers

I agree with Janice. These are fab and anyone not in any way boring. The fact that you used your compact shows that it's not all about equipment or the number of pixels at your disposal. It's what you see in the first place and the way that you use the equipment that you have that is important.

Hi Mike
I don't care what judges say about sunsets, I love them, and you have captured these brilliantly, excellently composed and without all the fancy gear, which is even more impressive. Keep up the good work.

Sunsets are wonderful, never boring, unless I suppose the palate is very jaded!
Best regards

You can't beat a nice sunset. One of my favourite photographic subjects.
These are nicely done!

Re: BORING SUNSETS
Beautiful images and far from boring. I love them both but I think the second image is my favourite if I was forced to choose between the two.
Goes to show what is achievable with a point and click and a little lady luck (for the sunshine)
