Following on from the first post, the idea of producing a useful item from a redundant/non functioning camera or projector appealed to me, so to cut a long story short I am now in the process of constructing a range called "Aladdin's Kampro Lamps", the first two are for sale on Ebay see
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111116685703? ... 1558.l2649 and
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111119178296? ... 1558.l2649
At the bottom of the add pages there are links to an AV show about the lamps.
Finally, if anyone has any old film cameras or projectors, preferably between 1930 & 1970 & wants to donate or sell, let me know. Alternatively if you have a favourite camera you are loath to part with & would like it converting to a lamp, I can give you a quotation.

Eric, good work, I think I may have use for all the old equipment I have laid around the house, I do like the look of them.

There are plenty of people who buy and actually use old items, so it would be a pity if something rare and desirable was made into a lamp...

I've just sold a Kodak 152mm f/7.7 lens to a photographer in Croatia and he's actually sent me his first shot with it. Very impressive, especially considering that most people would probably have thrown the lens away. A good investment of £12.50 for him and a better end result for the lens.
Best regards

Actually I feel the same way about all those coasters made out of the centre of 78rpm records. I think how I'd feel if I came across one and it was the only surviving copy of some unique recording, gone for ever so a mug can be put on it!

I'm a bit of a hoarder.... :)
Best regards

Well I'm still hard at it, just completed my 6th conversion, with 12 others waiting in the wings, the current one on test is a Polaroid 800 Land Camera circa 1957. I also re did the AV show to something more resembling a commercial. This time it's on YouTube
