Gerry's Photowalks

Post by Stu B »

Image
Barton Arcade. Manchester. by Stu115,

After being approached by a Manchester magazine to use one of my images in their publication. I just wanted to pass on some of the credit to Gerry Gentry. For without him bothering to give up his time and effort to organise his Manchester photowalk. I may never have taken this. If Gerry organises anymore walks, I will certainly take part and would urge strongly any other member to do so. Some may think its not the best image. (Ive already had some snears from some members) But im really chuffed it has happened.
Regards

Nice one Stu, I really enjoyed the Manchester walk I went on recently with Gerry, Jared and I continued on to this shopping arcade.
I'm hoping to go on more of the same when they are organised.

Nice image too.

Regards

This is really good news Stu. Very well done to all involved. I too hope to be on one of Gerry's walks.

Well done Stu. The other members who sneer at it are only wishing they had taken it.
Take it in your stride and be proud of your work.

I don't understand that Roy. I wasn't aware anyone had been sneering at Stuart's picture? Why would they?

Anyway, well done and it's always great to have our photography acknowledged when someone wants to use it.
Best regards

John

I can see why it would interest a magazine. It's a good example of an editorial feature shot. Good colours and very well handled. :D

Jeez, I've had plenty of people sneering at my photography but I'm still at ADAPS after 15 years. Just say b@lls to 'em and enjoy doing what you do. ;-]

Stu, what was the publication, out of interest?
It doesn't matter whether it's the best of the best, it's all about purpose and it fits their remit.
I see plenty of club, gig and portrait photography that I don't like, but someone does. Pictures for purposes.

Phil, It is MCR magazine, or visitmanchester for their online presence. Could possibly be in both. It was originally picked up from Flickr. Put a little grin on my face for a day....lol

Hi Stuart,

Your image is great, much better than the one I have up on Flickr and I also had a smile on my face, as they contacted me as well. It took me a little while to research who they were and as far as I can see they are a council/government type marketing company promoting Manchester as a tourist destination.

Good luck with your image and if they don't choose yours I hope they do mine ;-]

Best wishes

Ann

Yes. Good luck to you too Ann. I had been asking around to see if anyone else had, had their images selected.
