I haven't really told anyone until now, but I received two awards last year for photography
AFIAP - The International Federation of Photographic Art - Artist level
This is basically the international salons you may have heard being spoken about at the club. Salon is just another name for competition. You have to receive a minimum of 40 accepted images, there has to be at least 15 different images, from at least 15 different countries. It took 12 months of entering the competitions to achieve the minimum amount before I could apply for the award.
CPAGB - Photographic Alliance of Great Britain - Credit
This is a British award where you submit a portfolio of images, for credit level it's 10 and they have to score more than 200 points collectively.
The reason why I mention it now is because I went to collect my CPAGB award today from the L&CPU AGM at Chorley. I hope that sharing these achievements with you, will hopefully encourage other people to enter these types of awards because it's extremely rewarding and you get letters after your name

We will be holding critique nights for anyone interested in entering these types of awards, so if you are interested, please come along with the images you are thinking of entering. Dates will be announced soon.
Here are a couple of photos taken today and also copies of the certificates.
[ Best Wishes
