Forum Competition#125 'Bridges'
Hi Everyone,
Thanks Mel for your kind and encouraging comments. As a new member I was very shocked to get a placing! now panic has set in as I will set and judge the next competition. I look forward to a challenge.
I would like to set the new topic as 'BRIDGES', I have taken loads of photographs of them in the past and the subject is very varied.
I think it is 2 weeks limit, so I'll set it at deadline 28th March
Hope I've done this correctly!
Thanks again and look forward to seeing the images
Lisa

I took this one in late December a few years ago, it shows the Newcastle Upon Tyne Millenium Bridge closed, the Old Tyne Bridge & in the distance, the Tyne Railway Bridge. The large glossy structure on the left is the Sage Centre.

Hi Lisa - well done in the last competition!. This is the pedestrian bridge across the Bridgewater canal in Castlefields, Manchester; it is a lovely area for photography, and worth taking a stroll around with a camera. The photo was taken as part of a photography lesson by a lady who Gwen and I met in Piccadilly when she was giving a lesson to two students. I asked her to give us a few lessons, and it really helped us progress as beginners.

Last year Mel and I visited Granada - this shot was taken in the Arab quarter. After strolling in the sunshine we had a lovely al fresco meal. Oh to be in the sunshine again!

The old packhorse bridge, Carrbridge
Carrbridge is north of Aviemore and forms a gateway to the Cairngorms National Park. Carrbridge's most famous landmark is the old packhorse bridge, from which the village is named. The bridge, built in 1717, is the oldest stone bridge in the Highlands.

I took this picture during a short break to Scotland. We were waiting for the mini cruise boat to take us around the Firth. It wasn't a good photography day but you don't get many chances to see the bridge from this angle.
