Set Subject Competition : PETS
Hi all,
The date for this has now been changed and put back two weeks to Thursday 19th June. The three judges for the night have been selected.
The subject has been chosen by the last winner, ( Gerry ), and the subject is...
'Pets'..
This can be your own pet, or someone elses' dog / cat / chicken / lizard / budgie / tarantula or whatever exotic little thing shares the house.
Closing date for entries is one week before, ( 12th June 2014 ), and you can enter up to 5 images.
It is digital only and please list them in order of preference, in case we have to reduce the entry.
Entries can be sent to the usual address compsec.adaps@gmail.com
If you don't get an email response from me within a few days check that I have received them.
Good Luck, Keith.

Re: Set Subject Competition : PETS
Hi,
Usually the winner of the set subject competitions gets to choose the next one.
However in light of recent discussions it has been decided that the subject of the following set subject competition on November 6th, will be sports.
So everyone who would like to see a Sports section in the Annuals next year, this will be your chance to show if there is enough interest, and if it is justified.
I will post further details in a seperate thread, after this one has closed, so as to avoid any confusion.

A good idea to set the next set subject as sport, that way we can gauge if there will be enough interest for it's own category in the annuals.

Not really arguing, except that it may be that you get a slanted view as it's a one-off competition.
For example, if you had lots of entries for 'Pets' would you then say that we need a 'Pets' category in the Annual?
I hope you see my point.

I've e-mailed you my entry Keith, hopefully Sue will follow. Just at the minute we have my Mum as she broke her arm on Sunday, so time is short, but we hope to deliver anyway! Who needs sleep?

Best regards
John

Thank you John.
Can everyone else who had an entry bring it to the club tonight or email it to me asap.
If you have a late entry to be considered, see me at the club to let me know and I will see what can be arranged.
Cheers,
Keith.

Re: Set Subject Competition : PETS
I have to admit when this was set I thought we hardly ever shot pictures of pets, not ones worthy of competition anyway. In the end though we found plenty. Now whether or not they are worthy of competition our three judges will decide on Thursday!
We have the esteemed Gerry Gentry, the inimitable Jared Hull (aka KEASLA) and the enigmatic Stuart Ogden pushing the buttons on the voting machines. The irrepressible me will be operating the judging tally and on the other computer the charismatic Keith Richardson will be operating the competition projection.
As you can see, it will be a dazzling cornucopia of creative talent! See you there!

Well done Tracey. Worthy winner from what I can see.
I assume there weren't many entries though judging by the fact that all 3 of mine made the gallery!
Andy.
