Re: Forum Competition 138-Food Photography
I took this one at a Chinese restaurant in the Lowry Outlet Mall, It was a family meal & shows two of my Grandaughters Corrin & Fedra tucking in. In the unlikely event that I win I may not be around to select the next subject as I will be undergoing major surgery Wednesday. If I win & there is no response from me in 48 hours of the comp ending, will the second place entry please select the next comp.

This is the sort of thing I might cook when Sue is on a late shift, the Healthy Option!

Re: Forum Competition 138-Food Photography
Thanks to everyone for posting images of a very difficult, but new subject.
As I set the topic I suppose I have to sit in judgement so here goes:
Whilst I would be really happy to eat all the dishes, I think we have to look further than "one dimensional" images (sorry John & Gwen) and I don't think B+W does beautiful food any favours (sorry Walter but a nice presentation.) Sorry Eric but my eyes were taken away from the main subject. Mel nearly got it right with the hot food description but I would like to have seen the image taken from say table top level at maybe f1.8 and cropped tho you might have got a few stares from the restaurant.
To that end I think Jan got it dead right. Whilst not 'hot', I'm gonna let her off because she got the composition dead right and nicely cropped. I'll bet the Good Food magazine is an ever present in your kitchen - well done Jan.

Well, some very tasty images in this entry and surprised to have won this one. Eric, as far as hot and tasty goes, one has to use a bit of poetic licence - the meat on the platter was very hot and spicy LOL.
Bit stuck for a subject at the moment, let me have a think about it and will post tomorrow.

From a 'Food Photography' perspective I thought Janice's photograph was a worthy winner.
