Forum Competition #143 - In The Kitchen
Forum Competition #143 - In The Kitchen
Here's a new competition for you - "In The Kitchen" - and your image can be anything in or from the kitchen. So, a modelling session in the kitchen? A still life of items from the kitchen? An abstract of parts of your shiny new cooker? Perhaps a shot of your favourite dish being prepared? Or anything else that fits the brief.
It's up to you to be as creative and interesting as possible and the deadline will be midnight on Thursday 12th March, so plenty of time to shoot something new if you decide to.
We all have a kitchen, so let's see what you can cook up......

Re: Forum Competition #143 - In The Kitchen
Many thanks to those who have entered, and here goes the judging:
Stbourne: The tones of the image are spot on, the subject is a great idea. I only wish that more of the corkscrew was in focus, so a smaller aperture and more depth of field would help.
Barbara Shirley: The composition draws us into the plug hole and the texture of the water is absolutely superb. The shutter speed is also perfect to render the water flow just right. Very well done!
Janice: Wonderful blue tones, maybe just a bit more attention to composition would be helpful here. It's an unusual subject and it has been displayed well.
al c field: Very brave to show us the actual workspace where you presumably prepare your meals. The image has a personal feel to it that makes us feel involved and included.
Ian Yarwood: Another strong entry. Would it have looked even better though if the cheese board was at an angle rather than flat on? Sharpness and colour are good.
Gordon Armstrong: A nicely selected subject, carefully arranged so no unwanted or distracting details creep in. Stately homes can be tricky in this respect, so you've done well.
Walter Brooks: This is very subtle and classy photography and I'm impressed!
There are not many entries this time, so just a winner and a runner-up I think.
The winner is Barbara Shirley, with her splendid water shot. Please start a new thread for the next competition. Don't forget to judge it after the deadline! Kudos to you for a beautifully realised image.
The runner-up is Walter Brooks, what a very fine bit of photography it is!
So thanks again everyone, and let's do Barbara proud when she sets her competition.

Thank you John for your comments

I have to admit to feeling slightly daunted to now have the responsibility of choosing the theme for the next competition and even more daunted at the prospect of judging it !

Thank you Janice Freeman for your continuing encouragement and advice.
