Forum competition #146- PETS
Hi everybody
In my befuddled state I can't think of anything complicated to set you a challenge this time. So send me
your pet pictures - dogs, cats, rabbits, mice etc. I don't mind. Will even consider Pet pictures from Paul
(with or without clothes).
This might just fit in with the dog show coming up which ADAPS is involved with.
Closing date midnight Sunday 10th May (should have recovered from the election by then)

We don't have a pet of our own, but couldn't resist snapping this guy.

As Eric said, we don't have pets of our own, (only each other
) but if I had a lake, I would want a real one of these.

This is a photo of our much missed dog Masher who, I'm afraid to say, we had to have put to seep last year due to a tumour.

Re: Forum competition #146- PETS
Thanks everyone for your entries this time.
I find myself in a bit of a quandary (self imposed). Do I pick the cutest animal or the best picture? After consideration
I decided that as we are a camera club the best picture should win so that was the decider.
YACHTSMAN
This is the 'cutest' dog in my eyes. I just love how you have caught it and the background is not distracting from the
pooch. Like this a lot.
MRS YACHTSMAN
I'm sorry but this one doesn't fit the bill in my eyes. A statue of a swan however nicely painted cannot be classed
as a pet. Nice picture but not for this I'm afraid.
ALASDAIR
Between you and me I must confess that I'm a cat person myself. I would have liked to see a bit more of your cat and
a bit less carpet. Nice picture but these dogs have the edge this time.
BIG JOHN
This little pooch ranked alongside that of the Yachtsman in the cute category. As a picture the very pretty dog lead
takes my eyes away into the top corner. Not much that you could do about that. Still, a cracking image as usual.
IAN
Now that's a dog which is enjoying life and deserves it's reward. Nice picture but the competition is a bit better sorry.
ANDY
This is a typical Andy Butler image. You have the eyes sharp, nose just out of focus and the high key effect. Excellent my friend.
TRACEY
I have to say that you have got this one just right. Takes some doing to catch the dog in flight but you have got it spot on. Good one.
GILL
A man and his dog. Certainly that all right. That is some big dog. A nice record shot for the guy. Would have preferred a bit
less of a background perhaps.
PHIL
A black dog but you have managed to cope with that and the fur is nice and sharp. I think that I would prefer a closer look
at it's face or more of/all it's body. The twig? is a little distracting for me.
SO here goes
Bronze medal goes to Yachtsman for the cutest pooch.
Silver medal to Tracey for that excellent capture in mid air.
Gold to Andy for his excellent portrait which just grabs my attention.
Over to you Andy.
P.S. Did I say that I'm a cat person?

Thank you for choosing Mashers photo Mike, so pleased you like it!
I'll think of a new topic and post it as soon as possible.
