PRACTICAL NIGHT - PHOTOGRAPHING CONCERTS

An excellent night tonight, with a presentation of images from concerts, and the approach to take when in a very dynamic environment, not only of animated musicians often with unanticipated movements, but of rapid changes and extremes of lighting, neither of which the photographer is usually able to control.

Therefore a very big thank you to Phil Howe for his presentation and sharing his knowledge.

For those who wish to accept Phil's invite to photograph concerts, the dates are:

Thursday 24 September

Friday 25 September

Saturday 26 September

I have offered to collect names of those who are interested and to pass them on to Phil, so either contact me via ADAPS messaging, or by message on this page, stating the night that you wish to attend. I will post the details of the venues, times, etc, once I receive them from Phil.

Hi everybody, thank you for letting me back in your door on Thursday to talk to you about music photography. I really enjoyed it, and would actively encourage any member to step up and show off their range of photographs.

If you click a photo and scroll down, it lists some of the exif data, so you can see what settings I used. Please only use these as encouragement that you can put the ISO up and the shutter speed down to get the shot you need.

Keep adding the names to Mel's list. I am on holiday for a fortnight and will be doing as much organising when i return on the 6th September. In the meantime, why not find an open mic night and go down and take some shots and take in some music?

There is also a secret facebook group that I can add you to, to discuss anything openly with the rest of the photographers and maybe get some tips and advice etc.
