A long, difficult journey home as the snow relentlessly falls downwards from the night sky.
Best regards

Re: #176 A NIGHT SCENE
Many thanks for your entries Good People. Now comes the hard part but as usual I will call it as I see it/
JANICE
Cracking image to start the competition Janice. I love the lighting but just wonder if the reflections in the water is a bit too strong and could have
been tones a touch along with the bright band of light in the centre.
My eye was also taken to the red patch on the 'tower' which presumably is a reflection of something which we cannot see. Once seen I found my
eye going to this patch so in this instance the red didn't help.
TERRY
This image has a lot going for it and some things against. I like the red curves like an S from the bridge and the blue edges of the BBC
buildings but the background is a little soft as are the reflections in the water. Maybe a smaller aperture and longer exposure would have helped.
I still like it though.
GORDON
I like this image Gordon with it's nice clean lines and lighting. The bright lights on the left hand side are O.K. with me and I like the texture in
the brickwork in the archway. Not sure if it's as sharp as I would have liked and wonder if you used a tripod and what you focussed on. Had you
considered taking this to Mono? The black and white might just give a bit more atmosphere.
JOHN JM
Strong image with the building leading down to the street light and the 'Vaults'. The brightness of the shutters and the street lights suggest an early
evening light and the very strong blues in the sky and skyscraper add to the scene. I like this one a lot my friend.
BIG JOHN
I seem to remember that this would have been taken when returning from a Christmas party outing by the club. It certainly tells a story and
would bring back memories for those who attended. Not much else I can say except it's up to your usual high standard.
GRAHAM
This is a very nice picture with the big wheel taking the eye. I like the colours on the buildings which compliment the scene as do the reflections on the water. Nice try Sir.
PAUL
Nice to see one of your pictures in this competition Paul. Have tried very hard to spot the naked lady but you seem to have hidden her somewhere.
Joking apart, I just love this image. The feeling of tranquillity, the superb sky, reflected colours in the water and the main scene is just what I
was looking for. Great shot.
SO THE FINAL RESULT
3rd place to Gordon
2nd place to John JM
1st place and winner to Paul
So over to you Paul and if you are setting Nudes/Glamour as the next subject please be prepared to take me along to one of your sessions.

Re: #176 A NIGHT SCENE
Thank you Mike. Much appreciated.
The photo was taken while on holiday on the west coast of Scotland. Just in the right place at the right time. I actually get just as much enjoyment capturing sunsets and coastal scenes, as people.
Cheers
