Competition #249 Christmas lights
Competition #249 Christmas lights
Okay, it's prime time to prime your primes for a bit of bokeh fun with those ever popular out of focus Christmas lights. So grab that nifty-fifty and I want to see any type of image with circles of confusion in them. Portraits, nativity scenes, street scenes, Christmas tree baubles, family pics in Christmas garb or table top festive food and drink. Absolutely anything as long as you all have a great Christmas! Competition ends midnight, Sunday 27th December. Good luck.

Re: Competition #249 Christmas lights
Hope everyone had a good Christmas, despite all the restrictions. Now down to the judging.
Low entry level, but I'll let everyone off due to the time of year - many thanks to those who did enter.
Mel
Good portrait here, but I do feel its a tad too dark. You've included the out of focus Christmas lights which ticks the requirements box, however, I feel it doesn't quite work and looks to be added in post - nothing necessarily wrong with that, it just doesn't seem to fit the subject.
Graham
You've done everything right here and produced a decent, on brief Christmas image. Being picky I have to say the subject is a bit unexciting.
Daz
I like the ice sculpture here, it makes a good photographic subject. Unfortunately it does get a tad lost in the background. Lights are present and correct, but hardly defocussed (taken with a phone?).
Simon
Nice clear subject with some lovely Christmas lights in the background and a strong reflection. Good image.
So my winner is Simon with second place going to Graham. Over to you Simon.
All the best for the new year to everyone! Even if it does looks pretty bleak right now.
Andy.
